Congenital microphthalmia and congenital cataract

Diagnosis:

Congenital microphthalmos with hyperplastic primary vitreous, leucomatous and centered microcornea.

Moderate eyelid retraction, ​reduced conjunctival sac and slight enophthalmos.
Surgery:

Patient underwent cataract surgery, but the IOL has been removed in 2005. Pars-plana vitrectomy and silicone oil tamponade. Fibroproliferative tissue removal.

Prosthesis:

PMMA clear scleral shell fitting with corneal curvature. Fluorescein assessment.

Successive cosmetic hand-painted scleral shell fitting.

Results after 4 years from the first session.
