Bilateral congenital microphthalmia caused by R.O.P.

Diagnosis:

Congenital hypoplasia with leucomatous, anesthetized and displaced microcornea.

Moderate eyelid retraction and​ reduced conjunctival sac.​

Surgery:

Right eye: retinal detachment, pars-plana vitrectomy with silicone oil injection in 2009.

Left eye: no surgery executed.

Prosthesis:

PMMA clear scleral shell fitting with shifted corneal curvature in both eyes. Fluorescein assessment.

Successive cosmetic hand-painted scleral shell fitting.

Results after 3 months from the first session.
