Spontaneous retinal detachment

Diagnosis

Subatrophic eye with clear, anesthetized and displaced cornea.

Slight enophthalmos, moderate eyelid laxity and reduced conjunctival sac.

Surgery: 

Patient underwent scleral buckling and pars-plana vitrectomy without retinal reattachment in 1985.

Prosthesis:

PMMA clear scleral shell fitting with shifted corneal curvature. Fluorescein assessment.

Successive cosmetic painted scleral shell fitting.

Results after 6 years from the first session.
